John F. Curran moved to private practice in Oak Brook, IL in 2017 after serving 19 years in the Cook County State's Attorney's Office. He gained significant trial experience as an Assistant State's Attorney in the Criminal Bureau before transferring to the Civil Actions Bureau where he became Chief of the Special Litigation Division, supervising over 45 Assistant State's Attorneys while carrying a significant caseload with an emphasis on civil rights litigation and labor and employment law.
Among other notable cases, he has tried five jury trials in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, argued two appellate matters in the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and was lead counsel in defending several class action cases and for several staff reductions with both unionized and at-will employees.
John joined Castle Law at the beginning of 2023.

John is an avid sports fan and former Liberty Bowl–winning Illini football player who is now a regular spectator at his four daughters' games and competitions.
